Jim's the economist, while Linda is the editor, webmaster and a technical writer. We work together on Jim's written output so we've decided to make it more fun for us, and maybe even for you, if Linda's voice gets added to the website. So, welcome to our joint blog. Just keep in mind that if you want someone to speak to your group, you'll want to book Jim if you want an expert , entertaining economic outlook!
Jim's been an economist long enough to know that recessions happen, that economic environments are always influenced by politics, and that no economic forecaster can predict all the "black swans" that can suddenly and dramatically change the economic environment--usually for the worse.
He's also been an economist in a variety of economic sectors, including large corporations, the federal government, real estate associations, academia and currently chief economist of Parsec Financial, a wealth management firm. This experience, along with his regular attendance at meetings where colleagues across the globe present and discuss all of the possible economic perturbations they see on the horizon, means that he has a highly up-to-date, informed view of current and coming economic changes.
Linda's been married to Jim since 2001 and has learned a lot about economics. Since her educational background is in geology and education, economics is a great addition to her repertoire.
In addition to being fluent in economics, she is also the techie in the family and a cultural bellwether of sorts. In way too many instances to count, she has experienced or participated in an activity that is just starting to become a trend, fad or new way of doing things among her Boomer cohort. The one place where she refuses to go is Twitter, so you won't see much of our presence on that social media platform. We'll leave the space for our President.
She's looking forward to adding her voice to the EconForecaster blog!
