Senate Passes DR-CAFTA!

On June 30, the U.S. Senate passed S.137 (Domincan Republic-Central America-United States Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act) by a vote of 54-45. Ten Democrats (Bingaman-NM, Cantwell-WA, Carper-DE, Feinstein-CA, Lincoln-AR, Murray-WA, Nelson-FL, Nelson-NE, Pryor-AR and Wyden-OR) and the Senate’s lone independent (Jeffords-VT) joined 43 Republicans in sending this trade agreement know as DR-CAFTA to the House of Representatives.

Now is the time to write to your representative and ask her or him to vote for this bill. Success is critical to the long-run economic outlook.
